SMART CAL
(AUTOMATIC CALIBRATION USING THE SMART-CAL 360)
STANDARD FEATURE
The
SENSIT GOLD G3
is fully compatible with the
SMART-CAL 360
calibration station.
Using the station completely automates the calibration process. Gasses are attached semi-
permanently to the station, and all the user must do is start the process on the instrument and
station by pushing a button. Calibration will automatically proceed, including a flow block check
and autozero, and at the end give the operator either a pass or fail indication.
Using the
SMART-CAL 360
is not necessary to calibrate the
G3
. The operator also has the
option to manually calibrate the instrument by attaching bottles of gas, through the manual
calibration menu.

The SMART-CAL menu is used to put the
SENSIT GOLD G3
in a communication mode to
calibrate the instrument using the
SMART-CAL 360
. The instrument must be put in this mode,
and then calibration can be completed using the station. Follow the instructions in the sections
below to do so.
TO ENABLE SMART-CAL MODE
(SHORT-CUT METHOD)
:
1. From the work display, press and hold the
A
button for 1-2 seconds and release.
SMART-
CAL ENABLED will be shown on the display. Do not hold the button too long, otherwise
the instrument will go to the power off screen. The instrument is now ready for calibration.
TO ENABLE SMART-CAL MODE
(USER MENU METHOD)
:
1. From the work display, press and hold the
B
button until USER MENU is shown near the
top of the display.
2. Press and release the
C
button until
SMART-CAL
is shown.
3. Press and release the
B
button.
SMART-CAL
ENABLED will be displayed. The instrument
is now ready for calibration.
PERFORMING A SMART-CAL CALIBRATION:
1. Attach the “instrument hose” to the inlet of the
G3
. Once the
G3
is showing
SMART-CAL
ENABLED, press the
G3
button on the touchscreen of the
SMART-CAL 360
.
2. A list of available devices will be shown. Select the appropriate
G3
serial number of the
instrument you are calibrating. Communication will be attempted. When established, a
message showing “CONNECTION: CONNECTED” in green text will be displayed.
3. Press the
CALIBRATION button on the display of the station. The calibration process will
start and proceed automatically. No further user input is needed.
4. When the calibration process is complete, a message will be shown displaying the status
(success or failure). If calibration fails, attempt the calibration again.
