Changing the HEPA Filter
Caution:
Always de-energize the unit using proper lockout-tagout (LOTO) procedures when cleaning,
lubricating, or performing any other maintenance, troubleshooting, or repair.
Tools and PPE Required:
When changing the HEPA filter, we recommend wearing proper PPE, which may include cut resistant
gloves, eye protection, and dust mask. Please note that it is the customer’s responsibility to conduct an
assessment to discern the proper PPE needed.
Frequency of Change:
Change filter every 40-50 hours. Units that see heavy usage may require more
frequent filter changes.
1.
Open the filter access doors on the vacuum fan system (Figure 10).
2.
Unlatch the filter band clamp (Figure 11).
3.
Carefully pull down the filter assembly until it comes off the support lip (Figure 12).
4.
Remove and set aside the filter band and filter endcap.
5.
Place the entire filter into a bag and dispose of it in a proper manner.
6.
Install the new filter by aligning the filter on the outside of the filter support lip and carefully pushing up
on the filter until the filter is firmly attached to the top of the filter support lip.
7.
Place the filter band (Figure 11) around the top of the filter.
8.
Latch the filter band clamp, securing the filter to the filter support lip.
9.
Install the filter endcap (Figure 11) to the filter using the four endcap latches (Figure 11). Make sure the
window on the endcap is facing you as you install the endcap.
10.
Close the filter access doors.
