Once the child seat has been installed in the vehicle and adjustments have been made,
follow these instructions to secure the child.
- Loosen the harness by pressing the harness adjuster lever on the front
of the child seat, then pull the shoulder straps forward.
- Unfasten the harness buckle by pressing the release button and
sliding the tongues out.
- Move the harness straps to the side of the child seat and place the
child in the child seat.
- Position the harness straps around the child and fasten the harness
buckle.
- Proper connection is confirmed with a positive click after inserting
each buckle tongue.
- Gently pull up on the harness straps to tighten the lap section, which
should fit low on the child’s body.
- The 3-point-belt of the car is absolutely necessary to hold the Carrot 3
and to give the user the highest degree of security.
After you have positioned your child with the 5-point-belt of the Carrot
3, pull out the 3-point-belt of the car and put the buckle tongue in a
buckle. Then you direct the hip belt part of the 3-point-belt of the car
through both belt guides in this seating area (red plastic parts) and
tighten this belt in the lower part. It has to be positioned as deep as
possible to hold the hip of the user properly.
After that, you direct the shoulder belt of the 3-point-belt of the car on
the side of the buckle through the belt guide in the seat area and put it
on the other side through the belt guide in the shoulder area. After that
you tighten the belt in the shoulder area.
After you fastened the Carrot and its user with the 3-point-belt of the
car, make sure that the neck and the face of the child will not be
harmed by the belt. Please check that the buckle of the cars 3-point-belt
is lower than the belt guide in the sitting area. This is necessary,
because otherwise the child could slip under the hip belt in a crash
situation. If the buckle of the cars 3-point-belt is higher than the belt
guide, please speak with your dealer.
The 3-point-belt of the car must be tightened before the trip and must
lie closely on the user. Make sure that the belt is not twisted.
The chest support pad must have a position that guarantees that the
hip belt is as deep as possible to hold the hip appropriately and the
buckle of the 5-point-belt is not under the belt of the car.
If you are in doubt that the Carrot 3 and your child are appropriately
positioned, please speak to your dealer.
- Fasten vehicle’s lap shoulder belt over the child seat routing the belt
paths of the child seat.
- Verify that vehicle’s lap shoulder belt is not twisted or sagging, child
in the child seat is properly secure.
