We recommend that you install the backup software
before you install your tape drive. This section describes
how to install the backup software. Instructions for
Macintosh are on the following page.
Installing the backup software on
Windows systems
1. Place the Seagate USB Resource CD in your CD-ROM.
If your operating system is configured for autoplay,
the setup program will run automatically.
2. If your CD-ROM does not autoplay, click on the Start
button (in the lower left corner of your screen) and
select Run. Then type
d
:\setup, where
d
is the drive
letter for your CD-ROM, and press
ENTER
.
3. After the installation program begins, follow the
online instructions. After installing the backup
software, you can attach the tape drive, as described
on page 8.
