Exterior Equipment
Aft below Deck Fishboxes
Two below deck fishboxes are located on each side
of the cockpit. Each fishbox hatch is equipped
with a hatch lifter that holds the hatch in the
open position. Flush, twist lock latches secure the
hatches in the closed position. There is a large
red dot in the handle that indicates that the latch
is in the open position and the hatch is not secure.
Always make sure these hatches are closed with
the latches in the secured position before operat-
ing the boat above idle speed.
Each fishbox is drained by a separate diaphragm
pump located in the aft systems compartment
bilge and activated by a switch in the helm switch
panel. Be sure to monitor the water level in the
fishbox and turn the pump off as soon as pump -
ing is complete. The pump could be damaged if
it is allowed to run dry for extended periods. The
fishboxes should be pumped out and cleaned after
each use. Refer to the Drainage Systems chapter
for more information on the fishbox drainage.
Aft Systems Compartment Access Hatch
A hatch in the center, rear of the cockpit provides
access to the fuel valves, fuel filters, pumps,
strainers, and other equipment in the stern bilge.
The fuel valves are located on the forward bulk-
head of the compartment. The stern bilge pump,
fishbox pumps, high water alarm, baitwell pump,
fresh water pump, raw water pump, optional air
conditioner pump and sea strainers for the air con-
ditioner are among the equipment in this compart-
ment. The hatch is held open by a gas hatch lifter
and secured closed with a rotating latch. There
is a large red dot in the handle that indicates that
the latch is in the open position and the hatch is
not secure. Always make sure the hatch is closed
with the latches in the secured position before
operating the boat above idle speed.
Stern Bench Seat (Optional)
Your boat could be equipped with a forward facing
bench seat in the rear of the cockpit. The seat is
designed to fold flush against the cockpit when it
is not in use.
To use the seat, pull the handle near the top of
the seat base out of the recess toward the cockpit.
The bottom of the seat slides in a track and two
side supports move out with the seat as it folds
out. The seat automatically locks into the seating
position when the cushion reaches the full down
position.
