Operating the ENVI-MAG

The information in this chapter is not intended to be a complete tutorial on 
magnetic surveying, rather it highlights the unique features of the ENVI-MAG. 
Section 2–

Applications

 of this manual covers this subject in more detail. This 

chapter will cover the following:

guidelines for obtaining accurate, meaningful measurements,

tips on field procedures with the ENVI-MAG,

Accurate and meaningful measurements

The quality of your measurements are greatly affected by the sensor orientation, mag-
netic gradients and any other source of noise near the sensor. Accurate, meaningful 
measurements can only be made by observing some simple guidelines as discussed 
in the following sections.
