Appendix 1.0
1.2 System electrical connections checklist
This section details a step-by-step process to electrically configure
Scientifica’s Multiphoton Imaging system, as per the connection diagram
above.
4. Complete the electrical setup of the SliceScope, translation
system and control system
Connect motorised translation stages and the SliceScope Z
stages to the 1U racks and control devices. Consult the relevant
product manuals for more information.
5. Connect the MDUs to the variable power supply racks
Each MDU block features flying leads, one from each of the two
detection channels. Connect these to the rear of the variable
power supply rack using the Mini-DIN connectors in the ports
marked (PMT A and PMT B).

6. Connect the MDUs to the National Instruments BNC-2090A
Each detection channel also features a gold SMA connector, for
transferring signal collection data. Connect a BNC cable for each
recording channel from this gold connector to Analog Input (AI)
ports on the BNC-2090A.
Typically, the four channels should be connected in ascending
order from ports 0 to 3 on the BNC-2090A, but this may vary by
application.

7. Connect the Galvanometer mirrors to the 3U driver rack
The Scanhead features two dual tone flying cables, one driving
each of the two galvanometer mirrors. Connect the lower and
upper of these cables to the rear panel of the large 3U rack, into
ports marked “Galvo X” and “Galvo Y” respectively.
