TROUBLESHOOTING
8.1 PUMP PRESSURE LOW
If machine runs with insufficient or zero pump pressure, or if machine motor operates with
excessive noise:
a. Inspect pump for direction of rotation.
IT MUST ROTATE IN DIRECTION
INDICATED BY ARROWS
. If pump is not rotating in the correct direction, reverse
any two of the three motor leads.
b. Inspect debris baskets and tank screen for clogged condition.
c. Check the electrical connections for the liquid level switch as per wiring diagram.
d. No water or insufficient water in sump. Check the water supply.
8.2 MACHINE DOES NOT DRAIN
a. Check air supply line. Be sure it is open, 80 psi required.
b. Check to see if sufficient air is being delivered to machine by removing hose connection
at air actuator on drain valve.
If air supply is open and air is NOT being delivered to air actuator, replace the 4-way
air-control pilot valve.
c. Inspect butterfly valve by removing valve assembly located between the two pipe
flanges.
8.2 WATER FILL (Hot, cold or DI) CONTINUES TO RUN
a. Inspect solenoid valve by removing bolts located below electric coil. Raise valve.
Clean diaphragm or replace if the diaphragm is ruptured.
b. Clean foreign matter from valve seat and re-assemble.
8.4 SOLENOID VALVES
Two types of solenoid valves are used. There are maintenance and repair procedures that
can be performed to extend the life of these valves. Replacement part kits are available from
Skytron’s Parts Department. See Figures in this manual for proper operations, piping,
maintenance, cleaning, coil, replacement, valve dis-assembly and re-assembly.
