WHEN USING A FLEXIBLE GAS CONNECTION TO THE APPLIANCE:
ORIENTATION OF FLEXIBLE GAS CONNECTOR
Where allowed by local code, the installer may optionally use a flexible gas connector. Refer
and adhere to local code requirements and NFPA 54 Section 9.6 (in the USA), and B149.1
Sections 4.1, 4.2, 4.3, and 6.21 (6.21.3(b)) in Canada.
A flexible gas connector must be installed in the orientation shown in Figure 14 below as re-
quired by national installation codes. This orientation protects the flexible gas connector from
damage due to movement during heater expansion. Failure to install the gas connector in the
proper orientation can result in a hazardous condition, property damage, personal injury or
death.
It is the responsibility of the installer to ensure correct installation and gas connection.
