Local safety regulations apply. In Germany, these include, but are not limited to, Regulation 54 of the
DGUV.
The following work safety instructions do not replace these, but are to be considered as a supplement:
The following operating steps must be checked by a qualified electrician before
the initial start of operations and section 1.6 must be read.
Ensure that operator meets the following requirements:
Has been instructed on how to drive the chain hoist
Has read and understood the operating instructions for the crane and the chain hoist
See chapter 1.9.
Check for wear on the load chain and load hook before each use (see chapter 7.3 and 7.4).
If faults occur during operation, immediately switch off the chain hoist and rectify the fault.
WARNING
Non-observance of the general safety instructions for start of operations
and normal operation
This can result in personal injury or material damage.
►
Before the start of operations, the area around the crane must be secured
against unauthorized access.
► If damage or faults occur during the start of operations or while the crane
system is in operation, the system must be immediately shut down.
► If people still gain access to the working area, normal operation must be
discontinued immediately.
► Only operate the chain hoist if all protection and safety features are in working
order.
► Before using the system for the first time and before the daily start of
operations, carry out a visual inspection as well as the mandatory check
operations.
► Report any damage to the chain hoist and any changes in operating
performance to the person responsible immediately.
► After switching off/shutting down the chain hoist, ensure that it is secured
against accidental and unauthorized use.
► Refrain from any unsafe working methods.
