7.3 Load Chain
7.3.1 Wear Inspection
The load chain must be periodically inspected for wear (see chapter 7.9). The inspection is made up of
three measurements: see permitted wear values (Table 7) and measurement points (Fig. 26).
WARNING
Danger due to chain fracture and falling parts.
This can result in serious injury.

If the table values are exceeded or not reached, the chain must be replaced.
The chain wheel and chain guide must be checked for wear at the same time
and replaced if necessary.
Use only original chains. The chain links must not be welded.
For instructions on how to insert the new chain, see chapter 5.2.
Note:
For convenience, the old and the new chain can be connected to a flexible wire.
