5.2 Installing the vacuum generator
5.2.1 Vacuum blower
Procedure:
1.
Ensure easy access to the blower and dust filter (for service and
maintenance).
2.
It is permitted to fasten the blower to a crane column only if original
accessories are used. These accessories always include the option of
attaching the dust filter.
3.
The maximum recommended height for the console when fastened to a
pillar is 2,500 mm (vibration reduction, easy access for service and
maintenance).
4.
The fastening holes at the base of the blower have elements for reducing vibration.
Tighten the
fastening screws (using a locking nut) only as much as necessary for the foot not to come into
direct contact with the supp
orting surface (gap ≥ 0.5mm). The contact surface must be level to
ensure that the base stands securely.
5.
The outlet side of the blower (exiting from silencer) must be unobstructed (due to risk of
overheating).
6.
Connect the supply hose to the suction connection on the vacuum blower and secure with a hose
clamp. Attach the other side of the supply hose to the rotary union or recommended dust filter
(5.3) using a hose clamp.
7.
Set up the electrical connection in accordance with country-specific guidelines (VDE guidelines in
Germany). Observe the voltages specified on the type plate of the vacuum blower. Connect a
disconnecting switch (motor protector) and overcurrent cutout (type C) in series (see circuit
diagrams in the appendix).
5.2.2 Ejector
Procedure:
1. Connect compressed air hose to the compressed air connection on ejector and secure using a
hose clamp.
2. Connect other side of compressed air hose to compressed air supply at point of installation using
a hose clamp or any other suitable connection device.
Make sure that no dirt particles enter the suction or compressed air line during
mounting.
Incorrectly connected operating voltage
Material damage to the blower
►
Only operate the blower with the operating voltages specified in the
operating instructions supplied (for the blower).
ATTENTION
Before start of operations, you must check the rotational direction of the blower in
accordance with the operating instructions of the blower which are supplied
separately.
