Replacement Piston rod seals : (See Figure 1 & 2)
For replacing piston rod seal proceed as described here below:
Warning: Remember that a preloaded spring is included in the cylinder. (If SR Actuator)
•
Slowly unthread the screws (item 45) of the tie rods (item 40) in the proper sequence, then remove the
same screws with their washers (item 46).
•
Remove the end flange (item 32) from liner (item 43).
•
Remove the spring (item 53) from the liner bore (if SR Actuator)
•
Gradually remove the liner from head flange (item 25).
•
Unthread the hexagonal screw (item 30) and washer (item 31) from the Piston.
•
Remove the piston (item 42), from the piston rod (item 5).
•
Remove the piston rod seal (item 29) from the groove.
Note : If the actuator is VA0 model that the cylinder head flange (item 25) is integrated with frame.
•
Unscrew the four socket head screws (item 27) along with seal washer (item 52) which hold the head
flange (item 25) to the frame.
•
Pull-out the Rod head flange (item 25) from the frame.
•
Remove the Circlip (item 54) from the integrated head flange on frame ( If VA0 models )
•
Remove the bushing (item 11) from the integrated head flange on frame ( If VA0 models )
•
Remove the seal (item 26) from head flange / Integrated flange (item 25).
•
Carefully clean the relative grooves.
•
Replace the piston rod seals one in head flange / Integrated flange and another one is in piston rod.
Lubricate them with a grease film
Taking care not to damage the piston rod seals, proceed with the reassembling as follows:
•
To reassemble the actuator, follow the disassembly in reverse order.
Carry out a few operations with the actuator, in order to check that the movement is regular and that
there are no leakages through the seals.
