1.7. Sensor Display
An optional dedicated sensor display may
also be attached to indicate the current
position in the sensor range.
1.8. Optical Pens
The optical pen or optical probe is the
measuring head of the sensor. It is
connected to the controller via an optical
fibre. The sheath is generally orange in
colour.
The various optical pens are defined by
different measuring ranges and resolutions.
Each optical pen offers a working distance, a
measurement dynamics, a spot size on the
target as well as an angular opening of the
light beam, making it unique.
