Step 6

Install carriage/platform assembly

Install the carriage/platform assembly onto the rails.

Procedure

1

Verify that the rail system is securely anchored in place.

WARNING

The carriage/platform assembly is heavy!

Be very careful when lifting or moving it.

Bring the carriage/platform assembly to the bottom of
the stairway and position it in front of the rope levers.

Remove the shoulder bolts for the four conical rollers
and set the rollers and hardware aside.

WARNING

The carriage/platform assembly is heavy!

Use two people to install it to avoid personal injury or

damage to the unit.

Carefully lift the carriage/platform assembly into
position, guiding the upper carriage rollers onto the
upper tube. Be sure to feed the rope through the hole in
the upper carriage. Make sure the rope levers line up
with the corresponding mounting holes in the upper
carriage. Be careful not to scratch the paint on the rail
tubes.

Fasten the rope levers to the carriage with the hardware
provided (see below).
