6. OPERATION

6.1 Chucking

■

Remove any burrs and uneven areas on the workpiece contact surface to ensure that the workpiece rests
against the plate as evenly as possible.

■

Wipe the pole plate of the magnet and the contact surface of the workpiece clean.

■

Position the workpiece.

■

Switch on the magnet with the control lever (Allen key) in the “

” direction.

Ensure that the full control angle has been actuated.

Check for sufficient holding force, e.g. carefully try to release the workpiece from the magnet by hand.

■

Close the shielding.

■

Machine the workpiece.

6.2 Releasing

■

When using the magnet vertically, secure the workpiece against falling.

■

Switch off the magnet with the control lever (Allen key) in the “

–

” direction.

Ensure that the full control angle has been actuated.

■

Remove the workpiece.

■

If the workpiece still adheres due to residual remanence (for tool steel), use light taps to release
it from the magnet.
