STEP

2 A

Check

 the

appearance

of your insulin

  If you are using

clear insulin

(check your insulin type in your insulin leaflet), do

not use the cartridge if the insulin is cloudy or colored

  If you are using a

suspension insulin

(check your insulin type in your insulin

leaflet), turn the pen up and down at least 10 times to resuspend the insulin

Turn the pen gently to avoid foaming in the cartridge

After mixing, check the appearance of your insulin Insulin suspensions must

have an evenly milky-white appearance Mixing is described in the leaflet of

your insulin Before every injection the suspension insulin has to be evenly mixed

-  Check the name on the insulin cartridge each time before

you inject

-  In case the name of the insulin is not visible in the

cartridge holder window, turn the cartridge with your

fingers until the name is visible
