Profile Visualization and Monitoring System 

The Profile Visualization and Monitoring System will limit the manual cutting process to an area inside a 
pre-programmed cutting profile. The preset profile is displayed on the 15” full graphic color LCD monitor 
which is already installed in the PLC  

 machine. The monitor is also used to continuously display important diagnostic and status data of the 
machine in real time. 

The Profile Visualization & Monitoring System provides the following advantages:

Costly over-excavation will be prevented. 

•

 

The surfaces of the galleries can be cut more smooth and even. 

•

 

The operator is considerably supported by the screen visualization in cases of poor visibility 
caused by dust and blind areas from the cabin position. 

 

However, if the Profile Visualization and Monitoring System is used in combination with the option 
“Roadheader Guidance System”, the Roadheader must not be positioned exactly along the tunnel axis as 
the actual cutter head position is continuously shown in the theoretical profile (Regarding more detailed 
information refer to the option “Roadheader Guidance System”).
