4.2  Cutter Head 

Depending on the geological conditions there a different cutter heads available. For standard applications, 
the cutter head R315-IC39 with 39 EC38 pick holders is recommended. 

The R315-IC39 is a cutter head for medium hard cutting conditions, like shale, sandy shale, etc.. The pick 
holder system EC38 is a heavy-duty tool holder with a changeable tapered bushing. 

The cutter head is fastened to the gearbox with cylinder bolts and a spline for torque transmission. With 
this arrangement the head is easy changeable.
