Installing Optional Wildlife Protection
Components
If the Scada-Mate SD Switch is supplied with optional
wildlife protection (catalog number suffix “-W”), all
protective components are assembled to the switch except
those for the terminal pads. The terminal pad components
are shipped unassembled from the switch and must be
installed after the conductors are attached to the terminal
pads. For installation instructions refer to S&C Drawing
RD-6794.
STEP 13.
To install the optional wildlife protection
components, first, prepare the surfaces of the
terminal pads and connectors as described in
Step 10 on page 11. Then, attach the connectors
to the terminal pads and connect the conductors
or cables.
NOTICE
Only S&C connectors catalog numbers
474R1, 474R2 and 4581, as well as
compression connectors, can be used with
optional wildlife protection .
STEP 14.
Secure the wildlife-protection covers in place
by snapping the fasteners provided as shown on
RD-6794.
