• To send a fax in FINE resolution, press FINE before dialing. The light above the FINE key light to
confirm that the FINE mode is active.
• To increase contrast in a fax, press L. ORIGINAL before dialing. The light above the key lights, and
LIGHT ORIGINAL appears in the Window.
• To use HALF TONE mode, press L. ORIGINAL twice before dialing. The light above the key flashes,
and HALF TONE appears in the Window.
To find out which resolution and contrast settings are best for a document, use your SF 2200 to make a
copy (as described at right) with whatever settings you like. The copy will show you how your
document would appear at the receiving fax machine if you sent it with the current resolution and
contrast settings.
3-3-2 Printing Information on Sent Pages
If you have entered a Terminal ID message (Page 8), your fax number and message - along with the
time, date, and page number - will appear at the top of each page received from you.
By setting a User Option (page 24), you can choose to print this information directly over whatever is at
the top of each page, or you can add space to the top of each page to avoid covering whatever is at the
top of your document.
3-3-3 Cleaning Your SF 2200
If your faxes aren’t clear and easy to read, pull up on the cover release to open the Paper Cover.
Clean the scanning glass, white bar, paper r o l l e r, and thermal print head with a lint-free cloth
dampened with isopropyl alcohol.
Do not use a dry cloth. Doing so can cause static electric charges to build up, causing malfunctions.

To make a copy of a document
1. Load the document.
2. Use the FINE or L.ORIGINAL key to adjust resolution and contrast, if needed.
3. Press START/COPY
