3-1-3 Message Confirmation
A Message Confirmation will print after every send operation if you have answered YES to the prompt
PRINT MESSAGE CONFIRMATION while setting User Options (page 24).
3-1-4 Window Messages
During sending, the Window displays various messages. Usually, these message simply tell you such
things as the number of the remote fax machine, and require no repones from you.
If a fax transmission fails or the SF 2200 detects a problem, it may display an Error Message in the
Window. For explanations of Window and Error messages, see Troubleshooting.
3-1-5 Automatic Redialing
Your SF 2200 can automatically redial a number (including One-Touch and Speed Dial numbers) when
you are trying to send a fax. If you hear a busy signal, you can press START and hang up. Your unit will
automatically try later. You can set the number of times to automatically redial. and the number of
minute to wait between each try, in User Options (page 24). You can also turn off the redial feature by
setting the number of tries to 0.
3-1-6 Manual Redialing with REDIAL/PAUSE
You can manually retry as many times as you wish by pressing the REDIAL/PAUSE key. Pressing this
key causes the SF 2200 to redial the last number you dialed.

IF A DOCUMENT JAMS
CAUTION :
If the fax unit starts to read the original and for some reason stops without
reading all of it, DO NOT pull it out of the loading slot.
To clear the jam, pull up on the Cover Release and life the Cover. This will release the grip
on the document, and you can the remove the original without damaging your fax unit.
3-2-1 Prepare a Good Original
To prevent jamming and ensure good results on the receiving fax machine:
• Remove all staples, clips and tape from originals.
• Make sure any gule or paste is dry.
