Dialing Emergency Numbers
When you call an Emergency Number, such as 911, your
phone locks itself in emergency mode, only allowing you to
make calls to the emergency call center you originally
contacted. This enables emergency operators to more easily
dispatch aid, such as police, fire fighting, and emergency
medical personnel.

Important!
Emergency number 911 is preset into your phone.
If you call 911, an Emergency Call prompt appears
in the display for the duration of the call.
In a crisis situation, you can aid emergency
personnel in finding you by setting
Emergency tone
to
Alert
or
Vibrate
. (For more information, refer to
“Emergency tone”
on page 152.)
Important!
Because of various transmission methods, network
parameters, and user settings necessary to
complete a call from your wireless phone, a
connection cannot always be guaranteed.
Therefore, emergency calling may not be available
on all wireless networks at all times.
Important!
DO NOT depend on this phone as a primary
method of calling 911 or for any other essential or
emergency communications.

You can specify other numbers than 911 as emergency
numbers using the
Emergency #
settings. (For more
