EMBEDDED FLASH MEMORY INTERFACE

OVERVIEW

The S3F80P5 has an on-chip flash memory internally instead of masked ROM. The flash memory is accessed by
instruction ‘LDC’. This is a sector erasable and a byte programmable flash. User can program the data in a flash
memory area any time you want. The S3F80P5‘s embedded 18K-byte memory has two operating features as
below:

— User Program Mode

— Tool Program Mode: Refer to the chapter 18. S3F80P5 FLASH MCU

Flash ROM Configuration

The S3F80P5 flash memory consists of 144sectors. Each sector consists of 128bytes. So, the total size of flash
memory is 128x144 bytes (18KB). User can erase the flash memory by a sector unit at a time and write the data
into the flash memory by a byte unit at a time.
