VPN settings

The VPN settings menu allows you to set up and manage 
Virtual Private Network (VPN) connection definitions. 

Adding a VPN

Before you add a VPN, you should contact the network 
support personnel for the VPN to determine which VPN 
protocol to use (PPTP, L2TP, L2TP/IPSec PSK, or L2TP/IPSec 
CRT) and the correct setting values for that protocol.

 Add VPN

 to set up a connection to a VPN. 

3.

Touch one of the following options: 

• Add PPTP VPN

: Set up a connection to a VPN with Point-to-

Point tunneling protocol. 

• Add L2TP VPN

: Set up a connection to a VPN with Layer 2 

tunneling protocol. 

• Add L2TP/IPSec PSK VPN

: Set up a connection to a VPN with 

pre-shared key-based Layer 2/IPsec tunneling protocol. 

• Add L2TP/IPSec CRT VPN

: Set up a connection to a VPN with 

Certificate-based Layer 2/IPsec tunneling protocol. 

To establish a PPTP (Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol) 
connection, enter or select values for the following settings:

1.

VPN name (a name for this connection).

2.

Set VPN server.

3.

Enable Encryption.

4.

DNS search domains.

To establish a L2TP (Layer 2 Tunneling Protocol) connection, 
enter or select values for the following settings:

1.

VPN name (a name for this connection).

2.

Set VPN server.

3.

Enable L2TP secret.

4.

Set L2TP secret.

5.

DNS search domains.

To establish a L2TP/IPSec PSK (Pre-shared key based L2TP/
IPSec) connection, enter or select values for the following 
settings:

1.

VPN name (a name for this connection).

2.

Set VPN server.

3.

Set IPSec pre-shared key.

4.

Enable L2TP secret.

5.

Set L2TP secret.
