5.1 Safety Precautions

To prevent risk of personal injury, follow these precautions at all times when connecting PSTN cir-
cuits.

The Protective Earth (PE) should be firmly connected to the system at all times.

Never install telephone wiring when there is the possibility of lightning occurring.

Never install telephone jacks in a wet location unless the jacks are specially designed for wet

locations. Use extreme caution.

Never touch non-insulated telephone wires or terminals unless the telephone line has been

disconnected at the network interface.
