Shipment and on-site transport
Ö
Move the valve at a constant speed to the installation site.
Ö
Install the valve in the pipe
, see chapter 5.4.
Ö
After installation in the pipe: check that the
fl
anges
are
fi
rmly
tightened and that the valve holds in the pipe.
Ö
Remove the lifting slings.
Lifting the valve from DN 100 upwards
Ö
Fasten a lifting sling to each
fl
ange of the housing and on the
suspension element (e.g. hook) of the crane or forklift, see
Figure 4-1.
Ö
When doing so, ensure the safety, bearing capacity and
length of the lifting slings
Ö
Secure the slings attached to the body against slipping using
a connector.
Ö
In the case of a actuator with a lifting eye: fasten additional
lifting slings to the lifting eye on the actuator and on the
suspension element.
Ö
Lift the valve carefully. Check if the load lifting equipment
holds.
Ö
Move the valve at a constant speed to the installation site.
Ö
Install the valve in the pipe, see chapter 5.4.
Ö
After installation in the pipe: check that the
fl
anges are
fi
rmly
tightened and that the valve holds in the pipe.
Ö
Remove the lifting slings.
4.4 Storing the valve
Damage to the valve due to improper storage!
Ö
Comply with the storage conditions.
Ö
Avoid long storage periods.
Ö
In the case of deviating storage conditions and a longer
storage period, contact PFEIFFER.
PFEIFFER recommends checking the valve and the storage
conditions regularly during a longer storage period.
Ö
In the case of storage prior to installation, the valve should
normally be stored in a closed room where it is protected
against harmful in
fl
uences such as impacts, dirt or moisture.
PFEIFFER recommends a room temperature of 25°C ±15°C.
Ö
In particular, the actuator and the ends of the valve to the
pipe connection may not be damaged by mechanical or any
other in
fl
uences.
Ö
Prevent condensation in damp rooms. Use a desiccant or
heater.
NOTE
Info
Ö
The valve must be stored in its protective packaging and/or
with the protective caps on the connection ends.
The packaging should protect the scratch-sensitive plastic
lining of the valve against damage.
Ö
Valves that weigh more than approx. 10 kg should be stored
on a pallet (or supported similarly).
Ö
Valves are usually delivered in the fail-safe position. They
must be stored in the position in which they were delivered.
The actuating device must not be actuated.
Ö
Do not place any objects on the valve.
Ö
Do not stack the valves.
