8.1 Trouble Shooting Air Motor

Trouble Shooting Air Motor

Problem

Description

Resolve

Air Motor Not Cycling

Pumps Not turned On at Control Panel

Turn On Pumps and adjust pressure
using the regulator.

Air supply to upper frame or control box
is off.

Turn On air supply to upper frame or
control box. Check Lock-outs

Control Box Regulator setting too Low

Raise Regulator setting.

Pilot Regulator hose is off or plugged

Check replace pilot regulator hose.

Kinked or Leaking air motor air lines

Check air motor air circuit.

Limit Valves loose or out of adjustment

Tighten and align limit valves.

Limit Valves or Memory valve defective

Replace Limit, Memory valve.

Mac valve not shifting -check signal

Replace Mac valve if not operating.

Air Motor stopping in
middle of stroke

Pilot Regulator not working

Replace Pilot Regulator.

Frozen Pilot Regulator or Air Motor.

Un-Freeze – Too much moisture in
air supply – Check air supply

Fluid Section seized – Not moving
because of hardened material

Replace fluid section.

Air blowing out of
Exhaust Port when air
cylinder is stalled

Damaged or cut Main O-Ring in air
cylinder

Rebuild air motor.

Shaft seals worn or damaged

Rebuild air motor.
