Recommended rake setting – a) under normal operating conditions,
b) when operating on an even ground
slowly engage PTO clutch and wait until the rotors reach their rated speed 540 rpm. The speed
should be as low as possible in order to reduce fuel consumption of the tractor,
engage tractor gear and drive slowly into the meadow. On flat meadows the operation can be
performed with any speed. If the meadow is uneven reduce speed.
5.8.
Operation
On a normal meadow, simply couple the tedder using a rigid link
1
. On very uneven
meadows, in order to promote the ground following, it is possible to replace stiff connector
1
with
linking chain
2
(
Fig. 24
). Stiff connector
1
must be used when tedder is transported. Thus when
operating on a normal meadow it is sufficient to connect the tedder with use of stiff connector
1
.

Setting of tedder when operating on major unevenness
Support chain
3
is designed for setting the machine constant operating height when tedding.
It makes the tedder proper operating adjustment and relieves the tractor hydraulic cylinder. Support
3
and adapting chain
2
should be adjusted so distance
X
, of finger in operating phase is between 1
to 1.6'' (4 cm) above the ground as in
Fig. 24
. When operating do not allow the grass to be wound.
