PERATOR’S MANUAL

 

 

 

Only  original  spare  parts  and  wearing  parts  from  SaMASZ  are  to  be  used  for  maintenance  and 
servicing. 

 

Use of the silage roller only under consideration of the permissible total weight and the permissible 
axle loads of the towing vehicle. 

 

Double check that the operational state of the carrier vehicle is valid with the operating instructions. 

 

Check the operational state of the silage roller before coupling to the carrier vehicle. 

 

Make sure that the coupling pin diameter fits securly in the towbar hitch. 

5.2.

 

Ballasting the silage roller 

To increase the compacting pressure, the roller body and the frame can be filled with water. 

IMPORTANT:  

If there is a risk of frost, the silage roller must be completely drained of water. 
Freezing water can damage the frame and silage roller. 

IMPORTANT:

  

Only use fresh tap water without additives. Additives and other substances can 
damage the material of the roller body.  Other additives, such as chemicals to 
prevent freezing, can also poisonous to livestock and people. 

WARNING:

  

When  filling,  observe  the  permissible  linkage  capacity  of  the  tractor. 
Overloading can cause an increased risk of accidents. 

WARNING:

   

Make  sure  that  the  tractor  is  turned  off  and  the  keys  are  removed  from  the 
ignition for adjusting or working on the silage roller.  Starting the tractor while 
working on or adjusting the silage roller can cause serious injury and/or property 
damage. 

Filling with water to increase weight: 

1.

 

Open the water plugs using a 17mm/22mm wrench. 

2.

 

Attach the inlet hose and fill with fresh water from a tap. 

3.

 

After completing the filling process, screw in the plug(s) and tighten. 

Draining to reduce weight: 

4.

 

Open the water plugs using a 17mm/22mm wrench. 

5.

 

Rotate the roller body until the desired amount has been discharged. 

6.
