AUTOMATIC TUNING AND STORING
When installing the appliance for the first time, press the
RESET
button
behind the front panel for 3 seconds, with a paper clip to reset to
appliance to the factory default. Replace the front panel, then press and
hold the
AMS
(6.)
(left side of the lowest long blue light button)
button
for 2 seconds to automatically search for and store radio stations that can
be received at the place of use. All receivable frequencies are checked.
The better the reception conditions are, the more programs you will find.
After checking the entire band, all stored stations are briefly displayed and
finally switched to the very first stored program. In the meantime, you can
see which storage has which program.
● Pressing the
AMS

● After the tuning has finished, a few seconds broadcasting will be
audible from each stored radio station. The device scrolls alongside
even the possibly empty storages and stops at the first fixed radio
station. Introduction function can be switched off by tapping any of the
storage buttons.
● Take into consideration that the appliance will skip stations with weaker
reception, and the stations may be stored in a different sequence what
you have defined. It is also possible to perceive interfering signals as
transmission due to their magnitude.
● Select manual tuning and storing in order to perform custom settings.
MANUAL TUNING AND STORING RADIO STATIONS
If you know the exact frequency of the program you want to listen to or
want to fine tune a previously tuned radio station, we recommend using
manual tuning. By pressing the
BAND
button on the front panel, select
one of the
FM1-FM2-FM3-AM1-AM2
FM and AM bands. (recommended:
F1) Press and hold scroll forward or back buttons (3.)(4.) (
left and right
edges of the top long blue light button
). You can then scroll the
frequency the scroll buttons.
Convenient method: if you press one of the scroll buttons briefly, it
automaically searches for the previous or next receivable radio station.
After tuning in the desired radio station, press and hold one of the 1…6
buttons to store the station. The display shows the SAVE icon and the
used memory space. The stored station can be selected with the number
buttons. Programs that have already been stored can be selected with
the number buttons. The display shows the current frequency and where
it is saved. For example, F2-6; program 6 is selected on the FM2 band.
● If you do not press any button for 3 seconds in manual fine tuning mode,
the radio switches back to automatic tuning – this is the default setting.
Then it tunes automatically with the scroll buttons to the previous or the
next radio station, then stops.
● A total of 18 FM and 12 AM radio stations can be stored at FM1-FM2-
FM3 or AM1-AM2 bands. In every case, 6-6 stations are storable. When
storing e.g. you have chosen FM2 band 4. place for one station, then
later you have to choose FM2 (
BAND
) and press the 4. storage button
to listen to that.
● If a memory location is already occupied, its contents will be deleted
and the new broadcast frequency will be stored.
● You can store the station you are currently listening to at any time by
pressing and holding a new number button.
WARNING! Above, in the MENU section, we have already mentioned two
functions that affect the operation of the radio. The last two functions of
the menu, which can be accessed by pressing the rotary knob:
- STEREO
: stereo-mono reception; set it to mono, if reception is noisy
- DX/LOCAL:
remote or local reception, set to more sensitive DX mode
when reception is poor, but LOCAL mode when listening near a strong
local station
● The
STEREO/MONO
switch can also be performed quickly with the
shorter, middle, illuminated blue button (5.).
If you use the appliance at a greater distance from the tuning location -
e.g. when traveling - you may need to search for the same radio station on
another frequency again. The same programs are broadcast on different
frequencies in different geographical areas. This problem is solved by the
AF (alternative frequency) mode of devices with the RDS function. See
below for details.
● If you do not press any button for 3 seconds in manual fine tuning
mode, the radio switches back to automatic tuning after
AUTO
subtitle
appears – this is the default setting. Then it tunes automatically with
the scroll buttons to the previous or the next radio station (
SEEK
), then
stops.

FM RDS FUNCTIONS
The Radio Data System is used to transmit digital information during
FM radio broadcasts. These textual information will be displayed on the
radios’ displays if the broadcasting station and the receiver appliance
have this RDS function and it has been activated. Such information
includes for example the name of the radio station, the program type, etc.,
which varies depending on the station and radio. Apart from the display
of textual information, extra services are also generally available. They
include the followings in case of this radio:
●
PS
– program service: displays the radio station’s brief name. Operates
continuously as basic RDS function.
●
AF
– alternate frequency: if the current station can be received
on another frequency in better quality, the appliance automatically
switches over to that frequency; this is useful when travelling because
the appliance searches for a station broadcasting the same program
with a stronger signal.
●
TP
– Radio stations displaying TP marking, regularly broadcast traffic
information. Operates continuously as basic RDS function.
●
TA
– the active TA function allows traffic and road information
announcements to be heard. When an announcement is received the
text TRAFFI will appear on the display. If you listen to music form an
external source, it will pause during the announcement then playback
will continue.
●
PTY
– program type: radio station identification according to predefined
genre. It is possible to search for broadcast with specific content, for
example: news, classical music, pop music…
●
EON
– device continuously monitors other networks for traffic
information.
SWITCHING ON/OFF THE FM RDS FUNCTIONS

PS
,
TP
and
EON
services always work if the listened to radio station
