Revision 00 Date 18.10.1998
3.5.1
HAZARDS THAT MAY BE ENCOUNTERED IN THE MECHANICAL SYSTEM
NON-LOAD BEARING STRUCTURES
E0004P
WARNING!
The movable guards the machine is equipped with are not constructed to bear the weight of a person. It is
therefore forbidden to climb onto the surface formed by the guards or lean on the perimetral structure. Failure
to observe this precaution may cause serious damage to the machine and severe injury to persons or even
death.
HAZARDS THAT MAY BE ENCOUNTERED IN THE WORK AREA
When in the area where the machine is installed as well as the surrounding area personnel risks slipping, tripping,
falling, etc, both while operating the machine and carrying out maintenance. In designing the machine, a good amount
of space has been left free around the machine where it is installed to reduce these risks.
The corridors and areas surrounding the machine must always be:
- free of obstacles (such as step stools, tools, containers, boxes of material)
- clean and dry (immediately remove any drops of oil )
- well lit.
LIGHTING
It is fundamental that the areas surrounding the machine and in particular the work zone are always well lit. Replace
any defective elements without delay. Minimum value 300 lux.
RISKS PRESENT IN THE DRIVE SYSTEM
E0004P
WARNING!
The drive system exposes the operators to the following risks, as they may accidentally come into contact with
moving parts:
hands and/or limbs may be crushed, caught and dragged and cut off.
DURING OPERATION
The potentially dangerous parts of the drive system contained in the base (gears and belts) are protected by guards
or boxes secured with screws.
SAFETY DEVICES AND GUARDS
E0004P
WARNING!
The safety devices and guards must never be removed during operation. The devices and guards can be removed
when maintenance is carried out carefully following the precautions stated in the Maintenance chapter. Once
maintenance has been completed, they must always be put back in place and firmly secured.
