9. TYPES OF APPLICATION
The device can operate in a single-phase and three-phase installation and, depending on
the power supplied, it will be able to control and protect 1 or 2 single-phase or three-phase
pumps (only in the device for 2 pumps), depending on the input power received. The pumps
will work according to the voltage and frequency to which the device has been connected,
that is, if we connect the device to a single-phase network, the pumps that we connect must
also be single-phase. The same case if we connect the device to a 230V three-phase network
or to a 400V three-phase network.
The device is capable of detecting the voltage and frequency of the electrical network to which
it is connected, without any user intervention, allowing all possible standard voltages, as well
as connections to 50Hz and 60Hz networks.
A simple setup wizard is available when starting the device, and can be configured to control
a water supply pressure group, a sewage discharge system, a well pump system and also
allows a combined operation of the pumps (option available only in the device for 2 pumps).
The combined system totally differentiates pump 1 from pump 2, there is no link between
the pumps, and allows the start/stop and safety systems of each pump to be configured in
-
dependently. In this mode, the only thing that the pumps share is the voltage and frequency
provided by the electrical network where the device is connected. A common example of this
mode can be a well pump that fills a tank using well probes and well probes (pump 1), plus a
pump that takes the water from that tank and starts/stops by means of a pressure switch or
pressure transducer, with a level float switch to prevent operation without water (pump 2).
In 2-pump systems, pumps with the same or different nominal amperage can be configured,
joint operation can be configured through a single trigger signal, and start alternation can be
enabled or disabled. All of these settings are easily configurable from the setup menu.
The device has independent amperage control for each pump and for each phase, therefore
protection against motor overcurrent, as well as protection against dry work by current, with
configurable detection sensitivity and reset time.
The device has auto reset when a fault occurs due to overcurrent, due to excess consumption
of one of the motor phases with respect to the others (only in three-phase connections and
only in the panel for 2 pumps) or due to dry running. This prevents the installer from acting in
the event of a fault, being a completely autonomous and self-resettable system.
It has an internal clock with which the activation/deactivation of the pumps and auxiliary
relays can be programmed independently. Activation by time programming does not require
any physical device connected to the device. It will activate and stop the pumps only paying
attention to the current time.
It has an independent fault log per pump with the capacity to store the last faults with time,
date and type of fault registered, for proper maintenance of the installation.
The device also has an independent operating hours control per pump, also in order to control
the status of the installation and the pumps, as well as the correct operation of the start-up
alternation (configurable and enabled by default).
