Running-in instructions for engine
and transmission
CAUTION
Excessive revs while running-in the en-
gine increases the wear of the en gine.
Engine faults during the run ning-in pe-
riod must be im me di ate ly re port ed to a
specialized Sachs dealer.
NOTE
During the running-in period, ride in fre-
quently changing load and rpm ranges. Se-
lect winding and slightly hilly routes. Avoid
constantly low rpm counts and full throt tle
under load.
Running-in new tyres
CAUTION
New tyres have a smooth surface. They
must therefore be roughened by care-
fully running them in at various slanted
positions.
Only then will the surface obtain its full
grip!
Running-in new brake linings
WARNING
New brake linings must be run-in and
will not have their full friction power until
after 500 km.
The slightly re duced braking effect can
be com pen sat ed for by an in crease in
the pres sure on the brake lever.
During this period, avoid un nec es sary
hard braking actions!

During the fi rst 500 km:
Less than 1/2 throttle.

Up to 1.000 km:
Less than 3/4 throttle.
CAUTION
The fi rst inspection must be carried out
immediately after the fi rst 1.000 km.
You can save yourself delays by mak ing
an appointment with a spe cial ized Sachs
dealer in advance.
