Adjusting drive engagement
If it seems that the forward drive is not
working properly due to a change in
length of the belt after having been repla-
ced or after a long period of use, the ten-
sion of the spring (1) can be adjusted by
turning the nuts (2) until the indicated
measure is obtained (120 ÷ 122 mm mea-
sured from the outer end of the spring).
Once the adjustment has been made,
tighten the nuts.
Sharpening blades
Blades that are badly sharpened tear at
the grass, reduce collection and make the
lawn turn yellow. To remove a blade, hold
it firmly wearing strong gloves and undo
the central screw (1)
in the direction
indicated by the arrow for each blade,
noting that one of the fixing screw has
a right-hand thread and the other one
has a left-hand thread.
Sharpen the two cutting edges using a
medium grade grinding wheel and check
the balance by holding the blade up with a round 18 mm diameter bar inserted in
the central hole.
Damaged or bent blades must always be replaced; never
!
