General
The DIN Rail-Switch is an active
network component for the net-
working of up to 5 terminal de-
vices with an Ethernet interface
(10/100 MBit/s).
It is excellently suited for the as-
sembly of smaller or middle net-
work installations in private
home and small-scale company.
The DIN Rail-Switch is equipped
with cascade connection without
any power loss.
The DIN Rail-Switch does not
require any operating elements
for the user or installer.
It is designed as DIN rail com-
ponent for the mounting in an
electrical distribution respective-
ly on the DIN rail of a distributi-
on box.
Function
Data are transmitted to the port
of the switch on which the PC
with the corresponding destina-
tion address is connect.
Each of the five ports work inde-
pendently at a rate of 10 MBit/s
or 100 MBit/s in half- or full du-
plex operation (automatic shift-
ing).
The data rate depends on the
connected terminal device and
is automatically recognized
(autosensing) and switched over
by the DIN Rail-Switch
(autonegotiation).
Malfunctions on the ports are
detected automatically by the
DIN Rail-Switch - the affected
port is switched off
(autopartitioning).
The DIN Rail-Switch runs ac-
cording to the “Store-and-for-
ward-principle”, i.e. the data re-
ceived are stored temporarily in
the device and checked for com-
pleteness before they are trans-
ferred. Faulty data are not for-
warded.
Each port has three LEDs in or-
der to display the respective sta-
tus.
The DIN Rail-Switch is supplied
by the 230-V-alternating net of
voltage.
