INDICATOR LAMPS
The espresso maker has 2 indicator lamps.
ON/OFF lamp - This lamp illuminates to indicate the unit is on.
Ready lamp - This lamp illuminates only when the water has reached operating
temperature. It will cycle on and off as the thermostat maintains optimum water
temperature.

NOTE: To ensure the coffee being made is hot, do not use the brew or steam functions
unless the
(Ready) lamp is illuminated.
PREHEATING THE APPLIANCE
NOTE: Always fill the water tank before the espresso maker is turned on and make sure
the steam control is fully closed and all switches are in the outermost position.
Fit and tighten the filter holder in place as described in ‘
INSTALLING THE FILTER
HOLDER
’ below.
Turn the appliance
ON
by pressing the ON/OFF switch. The ON/OFF lamp will illuminate.
To ensure the system is properly primed, start the pump by pressing the START/STOP
switch. The pump will start and water will run out from the filter holder spouts. Press the
START/STOP switch again to stop the pump.
The
(Ready) lamp will illuminate once the water in the boiler has fully heated.
For optimum preheating, the Espresso Maker should be left
ON
and in
(coffee)
mode for approximately 10 minutes before making coffee.
NOTE: Although the optimum preheating time for the appliance is 10 minutes, coffee can
be made once the
(Ready) lamp is lit. However, waiting the 10 minutes allows the
boiler to heat fully and espress whole cup(s) at optimum temperature.
INSTALLING THE FILTER HOLDER
To install the filter holder, hold the filter holder handle and place it level under the
boiler outlet.
Align the filter holder so that the handle is pointing towards the left hand side of
the appliance.
Lift the filter holder up ensuring it is fully inserted into the boiler outlet.
Now rotate the handle to the right until it is tight.
