Water Hardness & Setting the Salt
Note: The hardness of the water varies from place to place. If hard water is used in the
dishwasher, deposits will form on the dishes and utensils. The appliance is equipped with a
special softener that uses a salt container specifically designed to eliminate lime and minerals
from the water.
It is recommended that adjustments should be made in accordance with the following scheme:
Note: Contact your local water board for information on the hardness of your water supply.
Loading the salt into the container
Important Note:
•
Only use salt specifically designed for use in dishwashers. Every other type of salt not
specifically designed for use in a dishwasher, especially table salt, will damage the water
softener. In case of damage caused by the use of unsuitable salt the manufacturer do not give
any warranty and we are not liable for any damage caused.
•
Only fill with salt just before starting one of the complete washing programs.
•
This will prevent any grains of salt or salty water, which may have been spilled, remaining on
the bottom of the machine for any period of time, which may cause corrosion.
The salt container is located beneath the lower basket and should be filled as explained in the
following section:
1. Remove the lower basket and then unscrew and remove the cap from the salt container. See
diagram 1 on the following page.
2. Place the salt funnel that is provided into the hole and pour approximately 1.5kg of
dishwasher salt into the salt container
3. Fully fill the salt container with water. It is normal for a small amount of water to come out of
the salt container. See diagram 2 on the following page.
4. After filling the container, screw the cap tightly back clockwise.
