Reducing Temperature
• To reduce the temperature, turn the temperature control dial counter-clockwise to bring
the desired setting on the dial next to the mark.
• The thermostat light will change colour depending on the setting.
• The reduction in temperature can take time, as the iron has to lose the heat it has built up.
It is best to organise your ironing so that you do not need to reduce the temperature (refer
to the “preparation” section, pg 6.
CAUTION: If you intend to iron delicate fabrics after using the iron at higher
temperatures, ensure that you allow enough time for the soleplate to cool. The
thermostat light only flashes while heating and will remain on if the soleplate
is at or above the set temperature.
Steam Ironing
• When steam ironing, you must set the temperature control at or higher. If you don’t, you
may get water on your clothes, not steam.
• Move the steam control to the setting you want,
= no steam, = high steam.
• Wait until the thermostat light glows steadily, then start ironing.
