cleaning of pipes:
The piping should be rinsed to clear out any pollution, welding beads, rust etc. before inserting the control valve. This
prevents inner leakage of the valve. A strainer should be fitted in front of the control valve to catch remaining particles.
flow direction:
For two-way valves the arrow an the valve body shows flow direction through valve.
installation position:
Actuator pointing up vertically or horizontally is suitable. If valve is vertically installed, the pillars should be over each other
to hold the weight of actuator.
tension on valve body:
Precautions to prevent any stress and tension at valve have to be taken.
piping arrangement:
For correct operation of valve the inlet distance to the valve should be > 5x DN, straight, linear and undisturbed. After valve
outlet the outlet distance should be > 10x DN straight, linear and undisturbed.
protection against heat:
To protect actuator against heat the piping and valve body should be insulated. This has to happen before start up.
2.2
Assembly actuator
Valves are normally delivered with actuator already fitted on valve. For removing or changing actuator please refer to installation
and operating instructions of actuators.
2.3
Pneumatic connection
Provide every valve with a separate pressure regulator to prevent disconnection risk.
caution!:
Avoid moist air in all cases to prevent condensate in system.

Commissioning
Valves are already adjusted and testing of function is done at work shop. An adjustment is therefore not necessary.
Start up may only be started when the items of chapter
“ Installation and connection”
are done.

Maintenance
4.1
Stuffing box
Generally spindle packing have to be changed or tightened immediately, because otherwise a new packing can leak again after
a short period.
Design of spindle packing is shown in the technical data sheets. spindle packing are available as spare parts set at
manufacturer. For ordering spindle packing always give serial number of valve (written on name plate "W. Nr.").
4.2
Change of spindle packing
make valve and piping pressureless shut off and empty where valve is installed
to change spindle packing actuator has to be removed. For disassembling actuator please refer to operating instructions of
actuator
loosen and remove cap nut
remove old packing set and clean packing compartment
clean valve spindle
insert new packing set according to sectional drawing
tighten cap nut and fit actuator onto valve and check limit swithes
4.3
Change of cone assembly
It is recommended to change spindle packing when changing cone assembly. For changing cone assembly gasket (503) is
necessary.
