3.2 Starting use
After removing the packaging and inserting the batteries 2x1.5V AAA (not includ-
ed in scope of supply) in the remote control (see Fig. 3b, No. 7), the appliance can
now be put into use. Proceed as follows for this:
1. Make sure that the appliance is switched off and the pilot lamp (see Fig. 2, No.
2) is out. Then connect the ceramic tower heater to an earthed socket protected
with an earth-leakage circuit breaker.
2. Now switch on the appliance by pressing the ON/OFF switch (see Fig. 2, No.
7). A beep sounds and the pilot lamp (see Fig. 2, No. 2) lights up.
3. Press the "POWER" button (see Fig. 3a/b, No. 5).
The display lights up and shows the current room temperature. The blower
starts, but does not generate any warm air yet.
4. Press "MODE" or "HEAT MODE" (see Fig. 3a/b, NO. 1) to switch to the desired
heating level. The following options are available for selection.

When first put into operation or after a longer period without heating
a short-term odour can arise.
Auto function
Proceed as follows if the Auto function is selected:
1. The temperature appears in the display. You can set this to the desired tempera-
ture using the "+" (see Fig. 3a/b No. 3) and "
−
" (see Fig. 3a/b No. 4) buttons.
2. The appliance starts heating.

Auto function
If the blower level "FAN" is selected, the blower will
switch on.
If the heating level "LOW" is selected, the tower heater
will generate a heat output of about 1000 W.
If the heating level "HIGH" is selected, the tower heat-
er will generate a heat output of about 2000 W.
The Auto function allows you to set a desired tempera-
ture yourself, which the tower heater will keep more or
less constant.
