6.4.1. Performing Analog TV measurements with HD Video Waveform Monitor *

If the meter is equipped with the Video Waveform monitor hardware option, the Analog TV
measurement interface provides a more detailed analysis of the signal, including a line by line
SNR measurement, a waveform graph and the Teletext decoding.

The main measurement screen is the following:

On the left side, the signal Video carrier level and the Audio carriers levels are displayed. At the
bottom, the overall signal spectrum is visualized and refreshed in real time, allowing the user to
appreciate the signal envelope and identify the different components (video, audio, etc). On the
right side of the screen, as usual the channel video is decoded in real time.
To access the other measurement pages, the user can either press the TV or CATV button on
the keyboard or press the “SNR”, “WFM” and “TXT” buttons shown in the main measurement
page (see above picture).

In the

SNR

measurement page, the user can evaluate the SNR measure for each one of the

525 lines composing the signal. In the top menu, it is possible to select the desired line (from 1
to 525) and decide whether to display the SNR graph for the entire line or zoom on a specific
temporal part of the selected line, specifying the time range with the “zoom time” parameter.
