Caution:
In the case the device shows a constant positive wood detection result over a
large surface area, the device may need to be calibrated. Place the device over
the surface of the area to be scanned and press and hold the wood detection
button until the green LED status light comes on.
When the device picks up a clear, strong
signal a crosshairs will appear over the
target aim (e) when the detector is directly
over the wood.

Further sources of information
Where possible, consult other sources of information before beginning work (construction
plans etc.). This help minimise the possibility of disruptive factors altering results.
Possible causes of incorrect readings
The following environmental conditions can influence readings:
• The proximity of other equipment with strong magnetic or electromagnetic fields.
• Moisture
Metallic or insulated building materials
Sensor area
Do not place any labels or name tags over the sensor area on the detector. This could
effect the detection process.
