- If there are any metallic enclosures (steel mesh etc.) in the material being examined the
display bar will show full and a constant tone will be emitted. When this occurs it will not
be possible to obtain an exact location.
- Target symbol: shows when the device is
directly over the material being scanned
for (e).
- Display in cm: the depth at which the
scanned material lies beneath the surface
(g).
- Magnet symbol for objects containing
ferrous metal (struck through for non-
ferrous metal objects) (d).
These symbols will not be displayed if the
signal strength is weak.
When the device picks up a very strong, clear signal the following symbols will be
displayed:

Detecting electrical cables
The detector can locate electrical cables
with a voltage of 110 - 400V AC and with
a frequency between 50 - 60 Hz. Other
cables, such as DC cables, which have
a higher or lower frequency or voltage,
will not be displayed although these may
be displayed as metal objects in metal
detection mode.
- Press the metal/live wire detection button
(twice if necessary) until the symbol for
live wires (4) is displayed, The green
LED status light indicates the device is
ready for use. In case the green LED
light is not on proceed as described in
the "Preparing for use / calibrating the
device" section above
