The ROTEX SANICUBE hot water indirect
cylinder is an entirely new product of its kind,
developed on the basis of the latest priciples
of water hygiene and heating technology. The
tank itself is a double-skinned container made
entirely of plastic. The space between the
inner wall (10) and outer wall (12) is filled with
high-insulating foam (11), resulting in a high
level of thermal insulation and minimal surface
losses The outer skin, approximately 3-4 mm
thick, is impact and shock resistant and is
therefore an effective protection against
damage. When put into operation, the storage
tank is only filled with storage water (13). The
water is entirely un-pressurized and is not
replaced while the tank is in use.
The stored water can be heated in a
variety of ways, i.e.:
1. Via a metal-pipe heat exchanger containing
heating water (3) (supplied by an oil-, gas-
or solid fuel fired boiler) or from other heat
sources such as a solar heating system.
2. By means of an electric immersion heater
(2, 4 or 6 kW) (4).
3. By a sanitary water heat pump (8).
The sanitary water is heated in a plastic-pipe
heat exchanger (9) which occupies the entire
depth of the tank and is completely surrounded
by the storage water. In this case, the sanitary
water is not heated and stored in a large-
capacity tank (as with most conventional hot
water tanks), but is contained inside a pipe.
The heat is not stored in the sanitary water,
but in the stored water from which it is
entirely separated.
