• Always check the installation area that there are no hazardous gas emissions after opera
-
tion.
1.6. Hazards based on fuel
• Always stop the engine and let the generator cool down 5 minutes before refilling the tank.
Do not refuel a hot or running engine!
• Always refill the fuel tank in a well-ventilated area.
• Do not smoke while refueling or operating the machine.
• Do not spill fuel when refueling the engine.
• Do not start the engine if fuel has spilled or a fuel odor is present. Move the generator
away from the spill and wipe the generator dry before starting.
Always check for leaks and cracks in the fuel lines and tank before starting the engine.
Do not run the machine if fuel leaks are present or the fuel lines are loose. Leaking fuel
and fumes are extremely explosive.
1.7. Hazards based on high temperatures
• The generator should be placed in a location out of the reach of untrained personnel and
children. Never allow untrained personnel to operate or service the generator.
• Never operate the generator when open containers of fuel, paint or other flammable ob
-
jects are near.
• Engine, generator and muffler are very hot after operation - never touch these parts.
Danger of burning!
• Always keep the machine at least one meter (three feet) away from structures, buildings,
and other equipment during use.
• Never enclose or cover the generator when it is in use or when it is hot.
• Do not modify the machine without a approval sheet issued by ROTEK.
• Never start the engine without air cleaner element!
• Always let the engine cool down before transporting or servicing it. Never transport the
generator during operation.
1.8. Hazards based on exhaust gases
Never install this generator in an enclosed area such as a tunnel or a trench. Using a
generator in a tunnel or a trench can kill you in minutes. Generator exhaust contains
carbon monoxide. This is a poison you cannot see or smell.
1.9. Maintenance
Poorly maintained equipment can become a safety hazard! To operate the equipment
safely and properly over a long period of time, periodic maintenance and occasional
repairs are necessary.
