NWE-IP User Guide (v5.0)

Updating the Network Settings • 35

To configure the NET2 port for protection switching

1. Display the 

Global

 interface as outlined in “

To display the NWE-IP interfaces in DashBoard

” on page 29.

2. Select the 

Ethernet

 tab.

3. Select the 

NET2

 sub-tab.

4. Click 

Edit

.

The fields are now editable on the tab.

5. Use the 

Method

 menu to specify 

Manual

.

6. Use the 

Address

 field to enter the new IP Address for the 

NET2

 port as provided by your IT Department. This 

is the IP Address that is used to control and communicate with the NET2 port.

7. Use the 

Subnet Mask 

field to specify the subnet mask for the NET port. 

8. Set the 

Gateway

 field to 

0.0.0.0

.

9. Set the 

DNS

 field to 

0.0.0.0

.

10. Click 

Apply

.
