4 Validation Procedures
OVERVIEW This section provides pressure and electrical safety warnings. It
explains all of the validation setups and procedures and provides
diagrams detailing each hookup.
For more detailed information on pressure or electrical hookups, see
Section 2: Hardware Functions. For more detailed information on
validator setup, see Section 3: Software Functions and Setup.
SAFETY MESSAGES Procedures and instructions in this section may require special
precautions to ensure the safety of the personnel performing the
operations. Information that raises potential safety issues is indicated
by a warning symbol ( ). Refer to the following safety messages before
performing an operation preceded by this symbol.

CONNECTION SAFETY
WARNINGS Before performing any validation procedures, please read these
electrical safety messages carefully. See Section 2: Hardware
Functions for more information on electrical connections and test
leads.
Electrical shock can result in death or serious injury.
• Avoid contact with the leads and the terminals.
Validator housing could explode causing death or serious injury.
• This Validator is not to be connected to a process.
• External pressure source’s pressures should not exceed the Validator’s Burst
Pressure.
Exposure to pressure leaks can cause death or serious injury.
• Ensure that all pipes and fittings are correctly rated for the operating pressure
and temperature.
• Remove pressure and vent the transmitter, validator, and all lines before
disconnecting any pressure lines.
• Remove pressure and open the vent valve before switching the pressure/vacuum
output, if the validator is equipped with one.
