A Method for Reducing Errors in Cutting Accuracy
Misalignment of the Y-axis and Z-axis origin points van affect finished results. Refer to "Part 5 Offset Adjustment for the Y-axis and
Z-axis Origin Points" and carry out adjustments.
Displacement of the Z-axis origin point in the positive direction can have a large effect on the finished results. This is because the side of
the tool (the outer peripheral tool) is prone to striking the first and second surfaces during thick finishing and prone to striking the third
and fourth surfaces during cutting.
If the finished results are poor even when you have made the value for [Four-surface cutting offset] in MODELA Player ver. 3 larger, then
try setting [Center-Z Offset] to a value that is more negative than the optimal setting. Note, however, that this produces finished results
that are correspondingly smaller.
It's important not to make the amount of tool extension longer than necessary. MODELA Player ver. 3 may not be able to correct for tool
wobble if such wobble becomes large.
It's also very important to keep the workpiece from bending or twisting during cutting. Give careful thought to how you load and support
the workpiece.
