Cleaning advice:
•
Clean the kiln regularly - at least once a week.
•
Make sure that no foreign substances or impurities get onto the insulating firebricks and heating elements.
•
Otherwise, this inevitably leads to damage to the insulating firebricks and heating elements or failure of the
heating elements during the subsequent firings.
•
If the insulating firebricks and heating elements do become contaminated, remove them immediately, as burnt-in
foreign matter will damage them.
•
Remove loose particles with a clean broom or industrial vacuum cleaner. Use a vacuum cleaner with the
appropriate filter class.
•
When cleaning the firing chamber with a broom or vacuum cleaner, avoid touching the remaining heating
elements.
•
Do not use compressed air.
•
Remove other contamination with a clean, dry cloth.
•
Do not use detergents or water.
•
Never wet clean or hose down the inside of the kiln.
•
In the event of extensive areas of burn-in on the kiln insulation or other major damage, contact the local specialist
or the manufacturer.

Maintenance
Follow the cleaning instructions listed below - these are the prerequisites for the perfect operation and long service life
of the kiln.
12.1.
General safety information
DANGER
Risk of serious personal injury or death and material damage to the kiln by touching live parts
when operating.
⇒
Only carry out maintenance work when the kiln is in a safe and de-energised state.
⇒
Trip all necessary circuit breakers to avoid accidentally touching live parts.
⇒
Pull out the power plug or switch off the electrical power to the equipment.
⇒
Before starting work on live parts of the electrical systems and equipment, ensure that
they are voltage-free and remain so for the duration of the work.
⇒
Before starting work, you must check whether the kiln can still be switched on.
⇒
Put up warning signs that indicate work is being carried out.
⇒
Let hot kiln components cool down before starting work.
⇒
Wear protective gloves when working on the kiln.
⇒
After completing the work, check all loosened connections and check that the cables
are firmly seated, and that the protective equipment is functioning properly.
DANGER
Risk of severe personal injury and property damage and even death while working on or in the
kiln if there is still residual energy in the kiln.
Note that certain modules in the switch box can still be supplied with voltage, even if the main
switch has been switched off for work.
⇒
Note that the residual voltage can remain in the kiln for several minutes.
⇒
Switch off the kiln completely.
⇒
Check that the kiln is actually de-energised before starting work.
